WORCESTERSHIRE IN THE 1970's and 80's
One of the most important engineering schemes in Worcestershire in the 1970's was the 1973 re-signalling at Worcester. Click here for full details about this scheme.
On this and the three pages are 12 photographs taken in the 1970's and 80's of diesels in Worcestershire.
All of these photographs were taken by Andrew Smith.

First off then is a scene fairly typical of the 1970's. This is blue liveried Class 47 No.47140 just to the south of Bromsgrove. This photo was taken on 21st September 1976.

From the same location but this time looking to the North is Class 45 No.45030 (formerly D31). The sidings on the left hand side are the resting place for the Lickey bankers between trips up to Blackwell. 21st September 1976.

Again on 21st September 1976, this is Class 47 No.47202.
