A batch of pre-WW2 photographs was recently donated to the MIAC. Amongst the batch is this stunning photograph taken from Railway Walk, looking down at the Great Western Railway sheds.
The two locomotives at the coaling stage are Nos.4972 "St. Brides Hall (new in 1930) and 0-6-0 "Dean Goods No.2458. The clean locomotives closest to the camerman are ex-R.O.D. 2-8-0 No.3027 and another "Dean Goods " No.2521.
DRS livery class 66 diesel locomotive No.66432 with the 11.55 Daventry to Wentloog Tesco containers train on Saturday 25th May 2024. The train passed Abbotswood Junction just four minutes late at 14.50.
