STOKE WORKS (grid reference SO 943666)

Stoke Works just south of Bromsgrove is the junction where trains from Birmingham New Street to Worcester leave the former Midland Railway main line from Birmingham to Bristol. There was a station on the former Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton (later G.W.R.) line from to Droitwich Spa and Worcester. Here the line is elevated above the road and the station was on the west side of the minor road. Nothing now remains to indicate that there was ever a station at this point.

Stoke Works (G.W.R) closed in 1965.

Stoke Works station was just to the left of this railway bridge.

This old goods van is in the Stoke Works allotments. The station was to the left of the houses in the background.
