This junction at Longbridge has had various names. When originally opened it was called Halesowen Junction and more recently Longbridge Junction.
Viewed from the railway bridge adjacent to the new Longbridge station is the start of the joint G.W.R. & Midland Railway line to Halesowen. The tracks leave the main line and curve away through the middle of the giant Longbridge car factory. The red brick hut occupies the site of a former signal box. This connection and the reamining part of the Halesowen Railway closed in 2005 and much was demolisghed in 2007.
