Longbridge is the last station in the West Midlands County and now forms the boundary between that artificial county and the current Worcestershire. This new station was built by Centro as part of the 'Cross City' line improvements in 1978.

This is the view from the westbound platform as Centro class 323 Nos.323205 (left) on the 09:37 Lichfield Trent Valley to Redditch passes hybrid unit No.323214 which contains one car from 323221 on the 10:32 Longbridge to Lichfield City. The giant Rover car plant is in the background.

This signal (Saltley 26) controls access to the Longbridge car factory at Longbridge Junction.
