KIDDERMINSTER (grid reference SO 828773)

There are now two stations in Kidderminster. One on the line from Worcester to Stourbridge and the other that is in the former goods yards is now the starting point of the preserved Severn Valley Railway.

A busy scene as Centro class 150 dmu's pause at Kidderminster. On the left is No.150109 on the 11:00 from Worcester Foregate Street to Leamington Spa and on the right is No.150105 on a train to Worcester.

The road bridge is now the only means for intending passengers to get from the ticket office which is on the Birmingham platform to the other side of the line.

There was also a locomotive shed at Kidderminster. This was situated on the south side of the Severn Valley line and is now a housing estate.

Gerald Wadley visited Kidderminster on 20th March 1960 when he recorded the following former Great Western Railway engines on the shed:

2251 class 0-6-0 tender engines Nos. 3216 and 3217 (both from Worcester shed).

4300 class 2-6-0 tender engine No.5333.

4900 'Hall' class 4-6-0 No.5996 Mytton Hall (from Worcester shed).

5100 class 2-6-2 tank engines Nos. 4153 and 4175.

5600 class 0-6-2 tank engine No.6679.

5700 class 0-6-0 'pannier' tank engines Nos.3601, 4629, 5791, 7700, 8701 and 8718.

9400 class 0-6-0 'pannier' tank No. 9475.

Kidderminster shed was closed in August 1964.
