HARTLEBURY (grid reference SO 850707)

Hartlebury was the original starting place for the Severn Valley Railway but has lately been reduced to the status of an unstaffed halt.

A Centro class 150 dmu (No.150112) passes through heading for Birmingham New Street. There used to be a passenger footbridge over the line but passengers now have to use the level crossing.

This is Hartlebury signal box that was built by Mckenzie & Holland of Worcester in 1875.

The station buildings on the Birmingham bound platform are now being used by a marine engineering company and passengers have to make do with the bus shelter. Note the signal in the middle of the platform.

Class 116 dmu

From an earlier era Andy Cope has provided this photograph of a class 116 suburban diesel multiple unit between Droitwich Spa and Hartlebury on the 14:50 Worcester to Birmingham in August 1977 in BR blue livery.
