Dutton & Co Limited took over part of the premises of the former Worcester Engine Works Company Limited on the east side of Shrub Hill Road. S.T.Dutton was a former employee of Mckenzie & Holland who had set up his business in 1888. Much of his design work was very similar to that of his former employer.
The company was taken over by J.F.Pease and Co Ltd of Darlington in 1899. Pease then sold the premises to Heenan & Froude Ltd.
