CLENT HILLS

Grid Reference: SO 939809

Most of the Clent Hills is the property of The National Trust who have over 440 acres of woodland and heathland rising to over 1,000 feet. The hills offer panoramic views as far as the Cotswolds and the Welsh borders. Parking is at Nimmings Woods Car Park where there is a small charge payable through a Pay and Display meter. The car park is open daily from dawn until dusk.

At the car park are public toilets and a small cafe offering hot and cold snacks.

From the car park a short walk on the level in a southerly direction leads to a viewing area towards the nearby towns of Hagley and Stourbridge. The course of the railway from Stourbridge to Worcester can be ascertained by reference to a good map.

From the viewing area a steep uphill path leads to the 'Four Stones'. This is not an ancient pagan religious structure but is a Victorian folly.
