We have provided a link to a new site that will be of interest to all involved with model railways. It is all about the Bromyard branch which is a 00 scale model railway under construction in a private home near to where the original line ran into the Herefordshire market town of Bromyard. This 1/76th scale model attempts to capture the essence of this GWR branch line which came to an end in 1964. The station area at Bromyard has been modelled completely from pictures as the site has been completely re-developed. However, the station at Rowden Mill is depicted as it still is, being an award winning restoration, to the original by the current owners. The 'end to end' railway runs into a busy motive power depot, that they call 'Worcester' as the branch started there on its way to Leominster, via Bromyard.

We are delighted to have been granted permission by Chris Wilkinson to publish some of his photos of steam at Worcester in the 1960s on this site. Chris was a cleaner/fireman at Worcester from 1962 until May 1965 and unusually for the period he sometimes used colour film and some of these photos of 'Castle' class 4-6-0's can be found on the first page of his photos.

There are plenty of railwaymen on these photographs and many have not been identified so your help to identify them would be gratefully received.

We have some superb items to post. In the meantime here are a few photographs taken at Worcester Shrub Hill on 31/1/2008.
