SAXON'S LODE BRIDGE

(grid reference SO 864387)

Saxon's Lode Bridge

This is Bridge No.AAM 107 at Saxon's Lode on a minor road from the A38 to Ripple.

View from bridge

Viewed from the bridge the trackbed of the line can clearly been discerned in the middle of this picture as it make its way from the River Severn to Ripple.

Fuel Depot

Looking from the bridge towards Malvern the line cannot be identified with clarity but it ran on a gentle curve alongside the metal fence on the left hand side of the picture to pass beneath the bridge. The buildings behind the fence were formerly used by the RAF as an aviation fuel storage depot. The depot was served by a siding from the railway which ran across the field in the foreground.
