EWS Class 66 No.66162 is awaiting the arrival of a banking locomotive before proceeding up the Lickey Incline. The train is in the 'up' (to Derby!) loop at Bromsgrove at the head of wagons loaded with coal.

Banking locomotive Class 66 No.66058 is seen asssiting No.66162 through Bromsgrove Station. This is one of a number of locomotives of this class that have been modified for Lickey banking duties.

This is a view to the south of Bromsgrove station and it shows the pointwork that enables trains to access the 'up' loop from either direction.

This is the remains of the former stabling point to the south of Bromsgrove Station with a new housing estate being built behind it and fond reminders of days gone past on the building. The concrete base dates from the days of steam traction when it had a shelter built on to it. The line running behind the base was formerly used for coal wagons.

The new order of motive power is represented by this photograph of Class 221 'Super Voyager' No.221103 'Christopher Columbus' on an up express.

The normal power for the 'stopping' service operated by Central Trains is represented by this photograph of Class 170/6 dmu No.170632 on a train to Hereford. The train is standing at the 'new' Platform 2 which was built in 1969.

This photograph shows remains of the original alignment of Platform 1. When the station was built by the B&GR there were three lines through the station with the original Platform 2 (down) being offset on a loop. Following the end of steam traction and rationalisation which saw Platform 2 removed in 1969, and the mediocre service of 3 times per day all using Platform 1, the loop was removed.
